It is up to everyone associated with the band to abide by and uphold this Code of Conduct.

  • Demonstrate commitment by attending and being on time for rehearsals and performances. Notify the Musical Director by 6.00pm when unable to attend rehearsals and as soon as possible if unable to attend a performance.
  • Value, encourage and support each other in the pursuit of musical excellence, enjoyment, and group performance.
  • Treat each other with honesty, respect, and courtesy and recognise the individual rights and worth of each person without regard to age, gender, ability, race, religion, or cultural background.
  • Act with professionalism to foster and preserve reputations of individuals and that of the band including any social media posts relating to the band or individuals.
  • Not engage in or tolerate bullying, harassment, or threatening behaviour, including the use of offensive language.
  • Model appropriate behaviour, act with integrity and objectivity, and take responsibility for your own decisions and behaviour.
  • Make the band a safe place for children and young people and report any suspected or disclosed child safety concerns to a committee member and/or other appropriate authority.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest and not use or take advantage of any band information, music, or official duties for personal benefit or for the benefit of any other person or organisation.
  • Respect band property including band folders and uniforms. If able, help with set-up and pack-down of rehearsal and concert gear.
  • Comply with Band and Council policies and rules and all applicable legislation.
  • Any issues or grievances are to be discussed with the Band President or a member of the Band Committee whose contact details can be found in the members area of the band website.
